- Alfa Romeo Giulia QV to launch in Australia priced at $143,900 MSRP
January 4, 2017 – Alfa Romeo Australia is pleased to announce the highly-anticipated Giulia QV sports sedan will be priced at $143,900 MSRP when it goes on sale in Australia from 16 February.
This sharp price means that the 100-plus Australians who have already placed an order for the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV have not only secured a relative performance bargain, they will be driving the car that resets performance benchmarks in its class.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV’s potent Ferrari-inspired twin-turbo V6 engine gives this stylish and spirited Italian thoroughbred the best power-to-weight ratio. Combined with Alfa Romeo’s ongoing commitment to weight optimisation – carbonfibre is used extensively through the car – and cutting-edge aerodynamics, the Giulia QV has the performance credentials to crush its rivals.
The Alfa Romero Giulia QV is the current production sedan king of the fearsome Nurburgring. In September, the Giulia QV set a scorching laptime of 7min 32sec, making it the fastest four door production vehicle ever – faster than rivals costing many tens of thousands more.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV can accelerate from rest to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 305km/h.
The Giulia’s potent engine is the most prodigious in its class for specific power, its 375kW coming from just 2.9 litres capacity. It is teamed with a quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission that has the smarts to preload downshifts if the driver flicks the paddle before revs have dropped sufficiently for a lower gear.
The engine also features cylinder deactivation to save fuel, making it the most fuel efficient car in its class, with a European combined economy figure of just 8.2L/100km.
The Giulia QV also features active aerodynamics, another first for its class. The front splitter lowers at speed to create best-in-class downforce in all conditions.
The Giulia QV arrives standard with a torque vectoring system – integrated into the technologically advanced chassis domain control – heralding an ability to improve agility of the vehicle, safety, traction, improved steering response, and vehicle handling attitude.
The Giulia QV’s next generation DNA Pro dynamic drive system tailors the Giulia QV’s suspension, steering, drivetrain, and exhaust note to deliver the best of both worlds: Scintillating performance when you need it and refined comfort when you don’t.
This all-new Alfa Romeo will come handsomely equipped with 19-inch forged alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) and automatic high beam, Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Brake and pedestrian awareness, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning and active cruise control.
Like the exterior, the Giulia QV’s interior evokes the twin themes of passion and premium performance typically the preserve of thoroughbred Italian supercars. The leather-wrapped surfaces throughout feature contrast stitching, along with aluminium and carbonfibre highlights.
The leather and Alcantara front sports seats are eight-way, electrically adjustable, and generously bolstered to help occupants withstand the Giulia QV’s prodigious cornering prowess.
Premium appointments include a Harmon Kardon 14-speaker sound system, and a bespoke 8.8-inch multimedia screen housing the entertainment system, satellite navigation and climate air-conditioning controls – easily accessed via a centrally mounted rotary dial with integrated handwriting recognition pad.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV will make its Australian debut at the Alfa Romeo Portsea Polo on January 14, 2017.
Australians keen to secure their very own Giulia, the automotive embodiment of Italian passion, performance and style, should register their interest at AlfaRomeo.com.au.
